Amon originally had a fear of public speaking and a bad case of stage fright. The Lieutenant had to help him get over it, practice speeches with him.

Sadly, no. She was pretty much all by herself. Chances were they were crazier than her anyway..

You DO at least get to see the asylum in a sequence in "Madness Returns" though.

Korra's not AU.

Though Tarrlok and Yakone are, and they do relate to his answer.

On one level, Amon thinks it necessary. The Avatar is a Symbol that must be taken down. And he doesn't really see anything that wrong with removing bending at this point.

On another level, Korra reminds Amon of his adopted brother Tarrlok, in a bad way. Both are invested in their bending more than others, having been rather cruelly trained in it since they were very young and for a large chunk of their lives. Deep down, Amon worries that if Tarrlok lost his bending, he would try to end his life. He has to entertain the same end result for the new Avatar, and it makes him feel uncomfortable. And Amon simply doesn't want people being driven to such despair as to end their lives when purged of their bending.

Howard's semi-secret ambition is to be an author of horror books for kids.

That is a good question.

In the game, she cuddles up to her rabbit doll, and it comes alive, telling Alice to "save us." From there she follows the right rabbit as usual. This is a bit flawed, considering in "Madness Returns," that doll is said to have been taken by the family lawyer.

THEN there's the casebook supplement that came with the first game through the eyes of the psychiatrist seeing Alice. Evidently she just slowly began to come to and start drawing pictures of her Wonderland. So its iffy, but after ten years Alice essentially decides to take control.

How did Amon gather his followers? And is there anyone among his followers that he could consider a close friend or brother?

They're based on the emotions he still has regarding the FAYZ (as well as a few from Stacy), but not the exact scenarios themselves. Part of the reason he only does short pieces of fiction is that he hasn't yet developed the ability to tell a long, complex story, and the way he writes now is more about capturing feelings of being trapped or scared or guilty.

She was the only survivor in a fire that claimed her parents and sister as well as earning her burns as well. She blamed herself for the fire and also suppressed clues indicating the fire was not an accident, thus resulting in her detaching from everyone and the world, in which she was committed to Rutledge soon after.

Karis lets Howard be misanthropic and twisted and hateful and never judges him for it. They're both bitter, angry people together and sometimes, Howard just wants to spend time with someone who won't try to change him. Sometimes it's easier just to be told it's okay to feel that way.
